Create, implement, and maintain a mechanism to track influenza vaccine R&D funding trends to better assess where funding is being allocated and identify gaps in funding for priority research.
Progress Highlights
CIDRAP at the University of Minnesota, with funding from the Wellcome Trust, developed the IVR Funding Tracker, a database of global funding aligned with priorities identified in the roadmap.
Ulrich 2025 summarized global funding and investment in R&D for improved vaccines against pandemic and seasonal influenza according to the priority research activities outlined in the IVR, highlighted key funding initiatives that addressed key IVR goals and milestones, and identified remaining gaps important for the advancement of influenza vaccine R&D to inform planning and implementation.
