Data management and sharing

Completed

Implement a plan that improves existing data management and sharing among influenza R&D researchers that includes developing an approach for reusing influenza vaccine study data (e.g., secondary mining of datasets).

Progress Highlights

The NIAID ImmPort is an open-access platform for research data sharing from basic research and clinical trials, designed to allow users to analyze data (e.g., from NIAID CIVICs and CEIRR studies), visualize results, and integrate data from multiple sources; As of January 2025 this platform included 115 studies (ImmPort Search). Recent developments in the portal include:

  • A new interactive data submission application with live validation and error resolution capabilities to enable optimal sharing of data internally and to public databases

  • New standards to capture data produced in vaccine and cohort studies and maximize the dissemination of results

  • A new data search application which allows scientists with iDPCC Portal access to view and export data

  • An improved Reagent page interface to allow influenza researchers to obtain specific reagents for vaccine studies
