Resource sharing

Completed
Ongoing

Sustain mechanisms for broad sharing of animal model resources (e.g., standardized and validated viruses, protocols, reagents, and tissue samples) that can be used among a wide range of investigators as standards for influenza vaccine research, which is particularly important given constraints on the availability of experimental animals.

Progress Highlights

NIAID created a centralized repository of research resources, Flu Hub, to advance influenza research supporting the NIAID Universal Influenza Vaccine Strategic Plan (Erbelding 2018). Flu Hub provides information on available research facilities, preclinical services, clinical resources, reagents, datasets, and bioinformatics tools.
